Pillow Cover "Khanum"

Regular price $34.99 Sale

Inspired by the tradition of Armenian carpet weaving, HDIF's "Khanum" handmade accent pillow is named because woven into the fabric is the word "Khanum" (meaning "gentle lady") and the date "1887." This truly unique item is made of fabrics woven in Alexandria, Egypt that reproduce ancient Armenian textile and carpet motifs.  HDIF imports the textiles, and the final handcrafted product is sewn in Vardenis, Armenia. Copyright 2021 © Homeland Development Initiative Foundation.

We love this for a host/hostess gift, house warming, or our own home.

Beautiful fabric, well made

The word խանում is actually woven into the fabric, which was a nice surprise. I think the colors would work with any solid colored chair/couch. The back is burgundy and has three buttons. It fits a small chair/couch pillow perfectly. My only suggestion is to use darker color buttons and cut the threads. Otherwise it’s absolutely perfect.
